Glen Allen, VA, October 8, 2019 – Today, Advantasure announced Katie Guhr as the next president of the health care technology product and business process services company.
Guhr will take the reins from current Advantasure president, Jamie Wells, who announced his retirement from the company last month. Wells will continue to be involved in the day-to-day operations of Advantasure and work closely with Guhr through the end of the year.
With almost 30 years of experience in the government sponsored health care industry, Guhr will carry on Advantasure’s tradition of client-first culture and help usher in a new era of successes for the business and its customers.
She has spent the last year in a consultant role, working with entrepreneurs and start-up companies who are trying to grow in the Medicare Advantage space. In this capacity, she has helped numerous entities define their value proposition, met with prospects and clients, and, in some cases, even implemented their go-to-market operations and strategy.
The last several years of her career were spent with Centene Corporation where she eventually served as the interim Medicare CEO, directly overseeing Medicare Advantage contracts within 21 states and 180 product offerings. There, she was responsible for setting the corporate strategy for Medicare Advantage growth and profitability, which included budget, growth, product design and innovation, sales and marketing and developing and overseeing compliant and successful operations including core operational metrics and audit readiness with a focus on transformational informatics and consumer experience.
“I can’t think of a better or more qualified person to take the helm of this company,” said Liz Haar, President of Emergent Holdings, Inc., which Advantasure falls under. “I’m confident that Katie will continue building upon the successes that the good employees of Advantasure have worked tirelessly to achieve. Her experience and leadership will ensure continued success for a very long time.”
Guhr is expected to start with Advantasure on Nov. 18 and work from the company’s Southfield, MI, office.
