Katie Guhr is proven to be an engaging and inspiring leader with almost 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
Her extraordinary background of working on both the health plan and non-plan sides of the industry puts her in a unique position to understand the needs of, and drive value for, Advantasure clients.
As a consultant, she’s worked with entrepreneurs and start-up companies who are trying to grow in the Medicare Advantage space – much like Advantasure. In this capacity, she has helped numerous entities define their value proposition, meet with prospects and clients, and, in some cases, even implemented their go-to-market operations and strategy.
On the health plan side, Katie has spent the last 13 years with profit and loss responsibility over Medicare Advantage products.
In those roles, she led corporate and market strategic direction in plans across the nation, consistently grown membership, improved unit cost indicators, improved revenue trends and overseen plans’ improvement in Stars with several plans achieving 4.5 out of a 5-star potential.
Through her career, Katie’s overseen 13 years of Medicare Advantage bid filings, fulfillment of CMS required documentation, member websites and member/associate engagement programs and has created and run retention programs, sales and marketing campaigns, and overseen broker relationships and commission payments.
She has also been involved in contract negotiation and account management including the creation and management of Accountable Care Organizations and High Performance Networks and was lead in due diligence over several acquisition targets and integration efforts.
Katie spent the last several years of her career at Centene Corporation where she served as the interim Medicare CEO in 2018, directly overseeing Medicare Advantage contracts within 21 states and 180 product offerings.
In that position, she was responsible for setting the corporate strategy for Medicare Advantage growth and profitability, which included budget, growth, product design and innovation, sales and marketing, and developing and overseeing compliant and successful operations including core operational metrics and audit readiness with a focus on transformational informatics and consumer experience.
Prior to that, she spent four years with Coventry, through the Aetna acquisition where she was both a corporate General Manager and market General Manager. From 2000 to 2010, Katie worked at Humana where she worked in Provider Contracting and Finance, her last position as the Western Division Finance Director, overseeing four multi-state markets in 14 states.
In the spring of 2018, Tessellate integrated with a sister company to form a stronger, more competitive organization, with the ability to leverage complimentary products and services and deep industry expertise. Recently, the company unveiled its new brand, Advantasure, with the tagline: Fueling Accelerated Performance.
The new name and tagline accurately reflect the company’s unique suite of technology products and business process services that improve the performance of health plans and provider organizations in the delivery of government healthcare programs.
